Mercy Foundation Funds Microloan
Yehu Provides Microloan to LucianahThe field partner for this microloan is the Yehu Microfinance Trust. This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu now covers over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts. With the help of Yehu Microfinance Trust, Lucianah received a microloan! Now she can buy the seeds that she needs to help her plant more crops, and therefore help her business become more robust. The Mercy Foundation is not taking any interest from this microloan. But, the local field partner may take interest from the loan. In conclusion, many entrepreneurs in underserved countries need access to capital. Due to the strength of the dollar in many foreign countries, even small microloans go far for many entrepreneurs. There are tens of thousands of entrepreneurs who have growing businesses and who desperately need access to capital to keep moving forward.
